Dear MCDC Members and Friends:
Welcome to our website and a new year of leading edge diversity programming. My name is Api Sulistyo and I am honored to serve as the Board Chair of the MultiCultural Development Center in 2008. I have been involved with MCDC for many years and have both personally and professionally benefited first hand from MCDC's programs and services. That is why I am excited and proud to invite you, your family, your company, office or agency, social or civic organization to join MCDC as we fulfill our mission to promote cultural understanding and inclusiveness to enhance workplace performance and community relationships .
To accomplish our mission, MCDC acts as a catalyst for individuals, corporations, and community, non-profit, government and educational organizations by providing networking, referral services, educational activities, and promoting the value of cultural diversity.
We want to partner with you and your organization to share diversity and build community through multiple, productive avenues. Our board members and staff are individually and collectively ready to build alliances with and provide services to our members and friends in local, state, national, and global communities alike. So let us know what your particular needs are via direct mail, phone, e-mail, or through our online multicultural resource site, SharingDiversity.com.
More importantly, however, we want to hear your ideas, share your insights and learn about your perspectives. Attend our cultural forums. Send teams of co-workers and family members to our topical workshops and seminars. Make it a point to participate in the many special training and awareness sessions led by national experts in the field of diversity and multiculturalism. And get involved in our exciting new initiatives, which include our new direction to provide MCDC services nationally, and eventually globally.
A positive first step in making a commitment to promoting diversity is to join MCDC. If you are a current member, consider sponsoring another person or company membership. Or, you may wish to also sponsor a particular event we have planned. If you are not a current member, you may join either as an individual or by encouraging your employer to join as a corporate member. Either way, you help support our mission "to promote cultural understanding and inclusiveness to enhance workplace performance and community relationships." Think about it.
Meanwhile, spend some time browsing our website. In it you will find all you need to know about MCDC - our mission and goals; our services and products; our Board and events, and membership opportunities. Bookmark our site. Send it to friends and colleagues. And finally, visit the site often.
You can also visit MCDC's www.sharingdiversity.com , which is designed as an online resource center for diversity professionals and people interested in knowing more about multicultural issues and information. Check out that site as well when you have the chance.
