The impact
of MultiCultural Development Center (MCDC) programs is felt throughout the community. Many large, Fortune 500 companies,
as well as many private and public businesses, and state and local government,
education and community organizations have participated and benefited from MCDC
services. Many corporate diversity programs have resulted because of the assistance
that MCDC has provided. For the past fifteen years, MCDC has gathered research
and information on ethnic groups and events and provided referral services for
groups and individuals.
Businesses are linked to the ethnic markets through
education, referral, and celebrations. Not only businesses have taken advantage
of MCDC programs but also the public at large. A link between the ethnic community
and its resources is shared through multi-cultural programs focusing on food,
the arts, and socio-economic discussions. The end result for everyone involved
is to achieve a community that respects and understands each other.
Moving
forward, MCDC is committed to continuing its work providing the opportunity for
learning through the various educational and training programs with the hope of
transforming cultural difference into strengths, a process from which everyone
can benefit. Through collaborations with other programs and additional resources,
more visible events will be planned to reach broader audiences.
