A MultiCultural Development Center (MCDC) Workshop
Co-sponsored and hosted by the Bloomington Human Services Division

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Program Description:

Never before have four generations shared the workplace. Never before have there been so many gaps and misunderstandings in values, needs, perceptions, and behavior.

Organizations that are not coming to grips with generational differences are losing between 2% to 4% bottom line productivity due to generational differences and miscommunication in the workplace. This amounts to losses in the billions each year from unresolved differences in generational values, attitudes and expectations about work and the workplace.

But these very differences are actually sources of strength and creativity.

This presentation will examine how differing values and perspectives can be combined for competitive advantage.

Participants will learn:

  • The factors that create differences between generations
  • How to manage the dynamics of the multigenerational workplace
  • How to foster appreciation of generational differences for an improved workplace climate
  • How to use generational differences as a strength for improving performance and generating creativity and innovation
  • How to build exceptional team performance and reduce nonproductive conflicts.
